A well known teacher from Plettenberg Bay has been arrested again after more charges were leveled against him.
The 42-year-old teacher is already facing charges related to the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old Grade 4 learner.
The teacher was arrested on June 22 after the learner's guardian reported the alleged incidents to police.
Police said the guardian suspected that something was wrong when the boy started wetting his bed.
It's alleged that the teacher had sexually assaulted the boy on two occasions in May, once at a swimming pool and on another occasion at the accused’s home.
He was out on bail of R3000 when he was arrested again by the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
Joanne Barrett of the lobby group, Women and Men Against Child Abuse, said they are confident that all the charges against the suspect will be consolidated and heard in the Regional Court in Knysna.
"Child Molestation is a serious offence and this must be prioritised in the higher courts. Priority for the child's best interests must be given by our justice system. The best interests and needs of the child must be maintained all times," said Barrett.
The case against the teacher was postponed to Thursday because his lawyer is on leave.
