Sunday morning at 09h47 Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a drowning at the Summerstrand Beach in Port Elizabeth. Reports from the scene however indicate that it was not a drowning, a twelve-year-old girl was in the water when she was hit in the head by a surfboard.Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that surfers had pulled the child from the water. Medics treated the seriously injured girl at the beach before they transported her to a local hospital for further treatment.
