PORT ELIZABETH - NO FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED AFTER DIE TRAIN DESTROYED IN FIRE

Popular Port Elizabeth beachfront pub and restaurant Die Train was gutted on Sunday night.

MESSAGE FROM DIE TRAIN TEAM
"By now everyone has heard that Die Train has burned down. We are very grateful that no one got injured and all our staff and clientd are safe. Thank you too everyone who stood by us through out all the tough times. We believe that in time everything will work out exactly as it should. But for now we thank you for all the good times. Regards Die Train team - Where guests become friends."

No foul play is suspected.

The fire at the Kings Beach restaurant started in the kitchen.

Owner Willem Stadler said when he saw smoke, he got patrons to leave.

The fire soon spread, but nobody was injured.

The fire department is investigating the cause of the blaze.
