The African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape says some of its members fear for their lives following the murder of a party official in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
Nceba Dwyili, a ward councillor candidate, was gunned down in Zwide on Tuesday night, hours after he campaigned with Human Settlements Minister and party veteran Lindiwe Sisulu.
ANC Provincial Secretary Oscar Mabuyane says he's shocked and perplexed by the murder.
"That was a ward where no problems were ever reported. We never had any issues within the ward. This issue is still confusing us."
