Port Elizabeth police are searching for three men who robbed a policeman of his service pistol and his police uniform.The incident occurred in Sobhuza Street late on Wednesday night when the gunmen accosted the 32-year-old Constable and a friend in the yard of a house in Unit Two.Police spokesperson, Mncedi Mbombo, says robbers had instructed the friend to tie the policeman's hands before they hit him over the head.
He says they fled in a Mazda 323 taking the policeman's firearm and uniform.
Anyone who can assist the police investigation should contact the nearest police station.
