Three suspects are in police custody following a report of a random shooting at a beach in Port Elizabeth.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the suspects were spotted on CCTV cameras firing shots at Brighton beach at around 9.20pm on Monday night.
The information was immediately relayed to police to be on the look out for a white Toyota Tazz.
The vehicle was spotted travelling on the N2 near Standford Road and was pulled over by members of the Flying Squad and K9 unit.
The three occupants aged 27, 34 and 41 were arrested.
Colonel Naidu says police confiscated a shotgun, 9mm Norinco pistol and magazine, 3 shotgun rounds and ten 9mm rounds.
The suspects were detained on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and will appear in court on Thursday. The Toyota Tazz was also confiscated.
