On Thursday, 1 September, a 25 year old man, Ludonian Allies, was sentenced to life in prison in Port Elizabeth for murder and another 17 years on other charges for crimes committed.
Ludonian Allies (Dustlifes) was sentenced in the Port Elizabeth High court today, 1 September 2016, on the following charges : murder – life imprisonment, attempted murder : 10 years; unlawful possession of firearm – 5 years and unlawful possession of ammunition – 2 years. The sentences of attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition will run concurrently with the life sentence.
On 2 November 2014, Allies and his accomplice, Xandre Jansen (23) fatally shot Nathan Roderick Jacobs (25) at a house in Jameson Street, Gelvandale. Jacobs and another victim responded to a knock on the garage door. Once opened, the accused and Jansen starting shooting at them.
The accused was arrested on the same day. Xandre Jansen was shot and killed in May 2016. The investigating officer is commended for his sterling investigation. This is the second lengthy conviction attained by the same investigating officer within a space of three weeks.
