Gelvandale Police were this morning responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in Liebenberg Street when the arrests were made.
As the members were following the vehicle, the driver and passenger jumped off and tried to run. The police officer saw the passenger drop a firearm.
A 9mm pistol with 2 rounds of ammunition was recovered and a 29-year old suspect arrested. The firearm was reported stolen in Bethelsdorp ealier this month.
