PORT ELIZABETH - 8 CRIMINALS ARRESTED IN SCHAUDERVILLE AFTER POLICE FIND TIK & SHOTGUN ROUNDS IN BAKKIE
On 29 November 2016 at about 19:50, members from the Visible Gang Intervention Team(VGIT) were patrolling in Shauderville when they noticed a blue Ford Bantam bakkie driving in Highfield Road. The vehicle was circulated earlier in the evening as a possible hijacked vehicle.
The members followed the vehicle while waiting for back-up to arrive. The vehicle was pulled over and as police stopped, they noticed a packet thrown out of the vehicle. Shotgun rounds were found inside the packet. On further inspection of the vehicle, police recovered more shotgun rounds hidden under cardboard on the floor of the bakkie.
Eight suspects were in the bakkie. They were all arrested and detained for illegal possession of ammunition and possible hijacking in Gelvandale. Tik was also found on one suspect.
