Two people were killed in a freak accident in Walmer Township in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
Police said a man and woman, who were sleeping in a garage attached to a house in Bhabhatane Street, were killed when a car crashed into the building at around 6.30am.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said a man aged 30 and a woman in her twenties, died on the scene. She said the driver of the white vehicle was removed from the scene by police as the community were angered by the incident.
Naidu said police will open a culpable homicide docket.
