Port Elizabeth Flying Squad responded to a complaint of possible suspects in possession of firearms in Bethelsdorp area.
On arrival, suspects noticed the police and pointed a firearm at the officer who fired at him, members returned fire, injuring one suspect in the arm.
The other suspect managed to get away. The suspect was arrested for possession of unlicenced firearm, attempted murder and and pointing of firearm. A 9mm pistol with its serial number filled off and 7 live rounds of ammunition were seized.
The suspects was detained at SAPS Bethelsdorp after receiving medical treatment and will appear in court soon.
