PORT ELIZABETH - POLICE INVESTIGATE INTERCAPE BUS ACCIDENT NEAR COEGA HOTEL

Port Elizabeth Police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving, after an Intercape bus with 33 passengers on board, left the R334 road near the Coega Hotel on Thursday night.

Police spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, said the 51-year-old driver claimed that the brakes had failled, and he decided to drive straight to bushes along the road.

He said five passengers were slightly injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Mbombo said the bus was travelling from Greenacres, via Uitenhage, to Pretoria.

He said the bus had been impounded.
