EASTERN CAPE - 2 PEOPLE DIE AFTER BAKKIE & TRUCK COLLIDE ON N2 NEAR BRIDGE


Kei Bridge police are investigating a culpable homicide case. It is alleged that a truck and a bakkie collided along the N2 road at the Kei Cuttings near Kei Bridge, Butterworth. The accident took place on Tuesday, 12 February 2019 at about 06h50.

The truck was travelling from East London direction towards Butterworth while the bakkie was travelling from Butterworth direction. A 35-year-old driver of the bakkie and his passenger, 18- year-old woman passed away at the scene. Both deceased are relatives. The cause of the accident is unknown however investigation continues by Kei Bridge detectives.

The driver of the truck and occupants were not injured. The identities of both deceased are still being withheld as some of their close relatives are yet to be informed of their deaths.
