Eskom said the load shedding is as a result of a shortage of capacity.
“There is also a need to replenish and preserve emergency water and diesel resources to limit load-shedding possibility or magnitude thereof in the following week,” Eskom said.
This is the first load-shedding in two months.
The power utility said Stage 2 calls for 2000MW to be rotationally loadshed nationally at a given period.
