
It is alleged that on Thursday, 07 February 2019 around 22:15, a 56-year-old owner of a silver Volkswagen Golf was stationary in Huna Road, KwaNobuhle, when three men armed with firearms knocked on his window. The complainant further alleged that the suspects forced him out of his vehicle and they drove off. The incident was immediately reported to SAPS Kwanobuhle who recovered the vehicle within minutes, less than a kilometre from the scene, burning in Matanzima Road, KwaNobuhle.
The community is urged to report any information that can assist the SAPS in their investigation by calling SAPS Kwanobuhle at 041 978 8600, Crime Stop 08600 10111 or SMS Crime Line at 32211. All information will be dealt with confidentially, tipsters can remain anonymous.
Following this incident, the Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga warned: “Acts of criminality will not be tolerated by the SAPS. We will be stamping the authority of the State by re-claiming the streets from criminals and protect innocent people. Criminals need to eradicate their perception that they have dominion over the SAPS”.
