EASTERN CAPE - 4 SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN QUEENSTOWN TIK DRUG BUST


A multidisciplinary team were deployed in Queenstown CBD for an operation, when a White Toyota corolla with four (4) occupants was stopped and searched yesterday, 24 March 2019.

Upon searching, police recovered 99 sachets of Tik. Four male suspects aged between 24 and 37 were arrested and detained at Queenstown police station.

The Vehicle the suspects were traveling in was also confiscated. All suspects are expected to appear at Queenstown Magistrate's Court today 25 March 2019 facing a charge of possession of drugs.

Queenstown Cluster Commander, Maj Gen Funeka Sganga said members should be vigilant and do all they can to eliminate, sale, use, trade and transportation of drugs. “Drugs have a negative impact on society and it increases chances of commission of crime,” she added.
