PORT ELIZABETH - 3 ARMED SUSPECTS HOLD WALMER PEP STORES STAFF AND CUSTOMERS AT GUNPOINT


Police in Port Elizabeth are looking for three men who robbed a Pep outlet on Monday.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says three men entered the shop in Heugh Road, Walmer and held staff and customers at gunpoint.

They were all ushered to the back office by one of the suspects and tied up with shoelaces.

Naidu says one suspect went into the manager's office and demanded that she open the safe.

The suspects' loaded cellphones into large bags and emptied the till.

Police says while the robbery was in progress an unsuspecting customer entered when one of the suspect's put on the company's jacket and informed the customer that their computers were offline and the customer left.

The suspects then casually walked out of the store and fled.

A case of business robbery is under investigation.
