SOUTH AFRICA - BEING DISHONEST ON YOUR CV COULD GET YOU JAILED FOR UP TO 5 YEARS

Lying on your CV will land you in jail.

A new law could see South African job applicants who are dishonest, jailed for up to five years.

The National Qualifications Amendment Bill was recently passed by the National Council of Provinces.

South African Qualifications Authority CEO, Joe Samuels told eNCA that a person could be jailed for up to five years and or fined if found to have fraudulently doctored their CV.

According to Samuels people must represent authentic qualifications, registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

He adds that action will also be taken on institutions if it is found that they have issued unregistered qualifications.
