PORT ELIZABETH - KWAZAKHELE TURNED IN WARZONE AS UNKNOWN NUMBER OF GUNMEN OPEN FIRE ON 5 MEN


Three men have been shot and killed in a suspected drug turf-war in Myali Street in Kwazakhele, Port Elizabeth.

Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says an unknown number of gunmen opened fire on five men in a small flatlet behind the main house at around 21h20 on Monday.

Beetge says the men, who have yet to be identified, died on the scene.

The other two victims aged 34 and 35 survived but sustained gunshot wounds.

Both men were shot in their hands while one of them also sustained a gunshot wound in the shoulder.

Police are not revealing the identity of the injured due to security reasons.

He says police suspect that the murders were related to a "drug turf-rivalry" in the area.
