PORT ELIZABETH - ALERT FLYING SQUAD ARREST 4 SUSPECTS AFTER DISCOVERING ILLEGAL GUNS & AMMUNITION

Four male suspects aged between 23 and 30 were arrested in Motherwell after being found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in their vehicle.

This followed after alert SAPS Flying Squad members noticed a suspicious charcoal Datsun Go driving without number plates in Nzunga Street, NU5, Motherwell at about 12:00 yesterday.

On searching the vehicle, an unlicenced 9mm pistol with its serial number removed and two (2) rounds of ammunition were found on the passenger side floor. All four (4) male occupants were arrested but three (3) were later released again.

The remaining 25-year-old suspect was charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and will be appearing before the Motherwell Magistrate’s Court on 12 June 2019.
