A Port Elizabeth man and his cousin bravely pursued two suspects who broke into their home and robbed them in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the complainant and his 23-year-old cousin were asleep when two men kicked down the door of the house in Capricorn Crescent in Helenvale after 1 am.
She said the intruders threatened to shoot them before fleeing with a cell phone, two jackets and a pair takkies.
Naidu said the cousins then chased after the fleeing robbers and were able to apprehend a 27-year-old man in Voissin Street, some distance away and recovered a cell phone.
The second suspect managed to get away.
She said the arrested suspect will appear in court soon
