Public Order Police have arrested a “wanted gang member” in Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said 23-year-old Dan Nel, was arrested at a house in Helenvale on Wednesday.
She said that a warrant of arrest was issued for him for the attempted murder of a 27-year-old man last December in Reginald Street also in Helenvale.
Naidu said police received a tip-off about Nel’s whereabouts and arrested him at a house in Voisin Street.
He will appear in court on Thursday on a charge of attempted murder, but Naidu said detectives “are also probing possible links to other cases currently under investigation.”
