Bethelsdorp detectives are appealing to the community in Arcadia or the surrounding areas to assist them to urgently trace the mother of a newborn baby found in Harrington Road on 3 May 2019.
According to police information, a passing motorist noticed a bag in the road and stopped. On further investigation, a new-born baby boy was found inside, deceased.
Police have opened an inquest docket. However, efforts in tracing any next of kin or the mother have failed.
Anyone who may have known of any female that was pregnant or has recently given birth and may have any suspicions is asked to contact D/Warrant Officer Wynand Hills at SAPS Bethelsdorp on 082 633 1293 or 041 404 3005 or Crime Stop 0800 10111 or their nearest police station.
