The Aliwal North detectives have arrested two suspects; a mother and son, for attempted murder. This comes after the Aliwal North Hospital notified the police on 17 August 2019, when a 50-year-old male victim was transferred back to the hospital from East London.It is alleged that the victim was stuck on the head with a brick on 20 July 2019, in Maletswai Block H, Aliwal North. And due to the severity of the injuries he sustained during the attack, he was referred to a hospital in East London.
After victim regained consciousness, he transported back to the Aliwal North Hospital where the police were able to obtain a statement.
The two suspects remain in police custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
