EASTERN CAPE - CREWMAN RESCUED OFF CHOKKA BOAT AFTER SUFFERING MEDICAL CONDITION



At 06h50, Wednesday, 18th September, NSRI St Francis Bay duty crew were activated following a request for medical assistance from a Chokka fishing boat just outside of Port St Francis reporting a male adult crewman onboard suffering a medical emergency and requiring a patient evacuation.

The sea rescue craft, Spirit of St Francis II, was launched and Private Care ambulance services were activated.

They rendezvoused with the vessel and medical treatment commenced and the patient was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought to their sea rescue base at Port St Francis and taken into the care of Private Care paramedics.

The patient had been transported to hospital in a stable condition by Private Care ambulance for further treatment.
