
The focus of the operation was on the following crime prevention activities:
- Stop and Search check points
- Closing of illegal Liquor outlets
- Ensuring Compliance on taverns
- Drunken driving
- Drugs
- Illegal firearms
The following successes were reached:
- Two illegal Liquor outlets were closed and two suspects arrested.
Four suspects were also arrested for possession of dagga
At the vehicle check point:
106 persons and 148 vehicles were searched.
Liquor was also confiscated as well as dagga.
During the same time Steynsburg station had a vehicle check point on the R56 together with members of the traffic department. 120 Vehicles were searched and fines to the value of R 6500-00 were issued.
The Acting Cluster Commander Col Mpho Rabela commended the members on the crime prevention activities at the start of the weekend. The high visibility will have a positive impact.
