EASTERN CAPE - EC ROAD DEATH TOLL INCREASES AS ANOTHER 4 PEOPLE DEAD AFTER VEHICLE LOSES CONTROL AND OVERTURNS

Four people have been killed after a vehicle they were travelling in lost control and overturned on the N9 between Willowmore and Aberdeen in the Eastern Cape.

The provincial Transport spokesperson Unathi Binqose confirmed that the four people were declared dead on the scene.

In another crash, several people were injured on the N2 outside Makhanda also in the Eastern Cape.

Meanwhile, the death of at least seven people is under investigation due to a multi-vehicle crash on Friday.

The accident happened on the N1 highway between Petroport and Wallmansthal.

Nine cars and two trucks were involved in a collision – apparently linked to veld fire smoke that had obscured parts of the highway.
