SOUTH AFRICA - AUTHORITIES OFFICIALLY CALL OFF SEARCH FOR MISSING 6 YEAR OLD HEROLDS BAY GIRL

The search for the 6-year-old Cuzette Scheepers whose mother and 2-year-old brother died when their vehicle went over a cliff at Voëlklip near Herolds Bay has been called off.

The 35-year-old Heidi and her two children went missing on the 22nd of October and their vehicle was found at the bottom of a cliff when a search party noticed tyre tracks near a ledge at Voëlklip.  The body of her brother, Hugo was found first and Heidi's body was retrieved from the water a few days later. A post mortem concluded that they both drowned.

Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says although they have been searching for Cuzette ever since they have not found any trace of her.

He said they suspect that she too has drowned and the search is now officially called off.
