Police are investigating after two neighbour’s pitbulls attacked and killed a three-year-old toddler in Kirkwood.
On Wednesday, 05 August 2020 at about 12:20pm, it is alleged that Charl Baartman (03) was in the neighbour’s yard in Aqua Park, Kirkwood when the two pitbulls attacked him.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
At this stage, the details are sketchy.
Police opened an inquest docket for further investigation.
The two dogs were later taken to the local SPCA to be euthanized.
Police are urging anyone with information that could assist with their investigation to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Morné Van Tonder at 082 441 7738.
