PORT ELIZABETH - 5TH SUSPECT IN JAYDE PANAYIOTOU MURDER HAS HIS CASE TRANSFERRED TO PE HIGH COURT

The case against a fifth man implicated in the murder of Port Elizabeth teacher Jayde Panayiotou has been transferred to the Port Elizabeth High Court.

Thirty-five-year-old Zolani Sibeko was apprehended last month after cellphone plotting allegedly showed he was with two of the accused outside the victim’s house a few days before she was kidnapped.

Sibeko will make his first appearance in the high court later this month.

He will appear alongside Christopher Panayiotou, who is accused of hiring men to kill his wife in April last year, and co-accused Sizwezakhe Vumazonke and Sinethemba Nenembe for a pre-trial hearing.

Sibeko was apprehended after a police investigation revealed he was allegedly with Vumazonkhe and Nenembe outside Jayde Panayiotou’s house on at least one occasion, a few days before she was kidnapped.

The state alleges they were plotting the route she travelled to work.

The accused will be back in the dock on 25 August.
