At approximately 05:30 this morning, a team of investigators reacted on information they received regarding a recent robbery. They proceeded to a caravan in Magasella Street Marselle and surprised the 35-year-old occupant who was still half asleep. During a search of the premises they recovered a cell phone and seized a 9mm pistol and over 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition that was hidden in the cupboard.The suspect who will appear in the local magistrate’s court this week will face charges of Illegal possession of a firearm, Illegal possession of ammunition as well as a charge of robbery.
Brigadier Morgan Govender, the Cluster Commander of Port Alfred, commended the three young detectives, a sergeant and two constables, for their prompt response. "Your dedication and passion to your calling is noted. Continue to give off your best and you will reap the benefits of your actions," added Brigadier Govender.
