At about 13:50, while members of the Mount Road Operational Command Centre (OCC) were busy with stop and searches in Burke Street, they noticed a male running. It is alleged that as he ran, he tossed a .38 revolver into a yard.The 14-year-old teenager was arrested and detained at a juvenile facility. A case of illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and possession of stolen firearm was opened. The firearm was reported stolen in Beacon Bay in December 2018.
The latest arrests and confiscations brings the total number of firearms recovered to 10 with 8 arrests within a week from the Bethelsdorp and Gelvandale areas.
