PORT ELIZABETH - POLICE HUNT & ARREST GANG MEMBER AFTER VICTIM IS SHOT IN THE HAND DURING ARGUMENT


The hunt for a gang member allegedly involved in a shooting last night, ended this morning, 15 November 2019, when he was arrested by Bethelsdorp Crime Prevention Unit members.

It is alleged that on Thursday evening, 14 November 2019 at about 20:15, the 23-year-old victim was standing outside his house in Melkbos Street in Arcadia when the known suspect approached him. An argument followed and the complainant was shot in his right hand. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was hunted down and at about 06:00 this morning, Bethelsdorp police followed up on information received that has led to the subsequent arrest of the 22-year-old suspect at a house in Aanblom Street in Arcadia.

He is detained on a charge of attempted murder and is expected to appear in court on Monday, 18 November 2019.

The case are being investigated by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation (Gang Investigation) and anyone who can assist in the investigation is asked to contact Detective Warrant Officer Neville Gouws  on 082 387 5904 or the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
